BIOGRAPHY
Gerard B. Berends was born on 23rd May 1946 in Voorst. He teaches Dutch in Emmen, and in this capacity taught both the editor-in-chief of Rottend Staal Online and prose writer Jos Tolboom the basics of the Dutch language, tucked away in Drenthe in the previous century.

Poems of his appeared in volumes of his own making, literary magazines – De Tweede Ronde, Het Nieuwe Wereldtijdschrift, Optima and De Poëziekrant – and in anthologies.

Amongst others, he performed his work at the poetry festivals of Dichter aan Huis (The Hague) and Doe Maar Dicht Maar (Groningen).
